Catering intern, Stanford University Residential Dining Enterprises

Stanford University Residential Dining Enterprises are seeking two interns from AUT to join the Silicon Valley based team for a 12-week internship in 2018.

Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries – an integral part of Residential & Dining Enterprises – is a full-service hospitality division comprised of Catering, Retail, Athletic Concessions and the Stanford Guest House. Residential & Dining Enterprises is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to our Stanford University family of students, faculty, staff and other community members. All our divisions – Stanford Dining, Student Housing, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries as well as Stanford Conferences – share the same vision and culture of excellence in everything we do.

WORK WILL INCLUDE:
  • Supporting with all aspects of food service on campus, including groups from as few as 2 to as many as 5,000, from Parents Weekend breakfast to plated dinners for the President.
  • Rotating through our full production kitchen, working in the cold prep room, hot production, and VIP functions. Besides learning the ins and outs of a large catering operation
  • Learning the logistics of ordering for multiple functions, planning for VIP events, onsite setup, and execution of VIP menus.
  • Providing input on the planning and execution events.
  • Experiencing the workings of Stanford Dining, which serves nearly 17,000 meals per day through 9 dining halls and one Central Production Kitchen.
SUITED TO CANDIDATES GRADUATING WITH:
  • Bachelor of Arts majoring in Culinary Arts
  • Diploma of Culinary Arts
PREFERRED DATES:

12 weeks, starting in the first quarter of 2018

  • Two AUT Internz scholarships will be offered to intern at Stanford University Residential Dining Enterprises during 2018.
  • Scholarships will cover airfares to and from San Francisco, a 1-year US visa, initial accommodation allowance, and all administration costs and travel and health insurance
  • The successful recipient of the scholarship to Stanford University Residential Dining Enterprises will be paid in market by Stanford University Residential Dining Enterprises.
