Institutional Banking intern, Westpac Americas
Immerse yourself in New York’s financial sector while supporting Westpac to develop relationships with some of the world’s biggest companies.
Globally, Westpac’s specialty is in AUD and NZD currencies, focusing on international clients wishing to do business with Australia and New Zealand. It has offices in Europe, USA and Asia.
Westpac are looking for a 2017 AUT graduate to join them for a three-month internship, where you will be part of a small but highly experienced and knowledgeable team working to maximize clients’ business in relation to their Australian and New Zealand dealings.
You will learn the importance of relationships with stakeholders throughout the world of business and finance and will get experience providing support in the management of lending foreign exchange, interest rate risk management, compliance and risk in an international banking environment. Candidates must be financially literate, curious about the world of international business and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
WORK WILL INCLUDE:
- Supporting the team to develop its business with corporate and institutional customers that have significant operations in New Zealand or Australia by conducting high quality research, data analysis and other support for the development of proposals and pitches.
SUITED TO CANDIDATES GRADUATING WITH:
Bachelor of Business majoring in International Business, Accounting, Economics or Finance
PREFERRED DATES:
12 weeks, starting January/February 2018.

- Scholarships will cover airfares to and from New York, a 1-year US visa, a stipend to support living costs, and travel and health insurance.
